Back Bends in Forward Bends
Ramanand Patel will be teaching a focused class on the intricacies of forward
bends. At physical level forward bends facilitate the opening of the hamstrings and the groins
as well strengthen the quadriceps and the back. At organic level they are a boon to the digestive
system and tone the abdomen. Correct and progressive approach to forward bends yields some of
the most desirable fruits of deep mental and emotional introspection. Along with the emphasis
of correct breathing the practice opens the door to the unconcious. Such approach requires
actions of backbends and what is known as double action
in Iyengar method. Under careful and
experienced instruction of Ramanand be prepared to go deeper in your forward bend practice.

This workshop is appropriate for teachers as well as students who have been practicing
yoga for at least one year.
